1. All these sports and more on your television! I hate the look of bodybuilders but I find weightlifting almost as riveting as Athletics or Gymastics.
2. I’d prefer if the BBC sent less sport experts and more dated buffoons
3. Montages with titles like “The pain” or maybe “The Glory” followed by some breathy studio link like “and I’m sure you’re all still recovering from that great moment yesterday evening”.
4. First athlete to fly a Tibetan flag gets a free public beating. I’m all for watching the Olympics and also supporting protests against human rights abuses. Seems like China get the spotlight and the spotlight can illuminate the dark bits like any decent spotlight should. I don’t think you can hold up a black fist unless you come first though. Thats cheating.
5. Can I formally request a new high jump world record? They’ve been the same since 1993 for men and 1987 for women! Have we stopped advancing upward?

The only thing I’m slightly disappointed about is the inclusion of only one new event (BMX). Why not bring back Basque Pelota? Everyone wants that.

Or even better bring back Tug Of War. It hasn’t featured since Britain won it in 1920. The London Police won it once. Fact. Check it. Everyone would watch it. You’d put it on the last day, right before the closing ceremony. It would be best if you didn’t have professional tug-of-warriors but rather each nation four men and four women from the ranks of their other athletes to compete. Amazing! The IOC should hire me.

Also Sumo wrestling is a “recognised Olympic Sport” but isn’t featured in the games. Suck. I’d love to see some proper international Sumo competition…
