These are on-screen killings of central Buffy and Angel characters. These killings did not always mean that they ‘actually’ died (that term is kind of loose in Buffyworld).

There’s alternate reality stuff in here (‘The Wish’), flashbacks (particularly for Angel and Spike), time alteration (thanks to Illyria) and of course, there’s that kind of dying where you come back as a nasty later that same episode.

Getting your throat slashed and being left for dead is also being counted as a killing here – as is not waking up from a coma and simply flatlining, though any arguments would be purely semantic.

Now we need a ‘best deaths’, I think…
